Over 16 million Pokémon caught during the Pokémon Go Fest Sapporo event, unlocking bonuses for Bug Out! an event

Pokemon Go was headquartered in Sapporo, Japan Go Last weekend’s Fest event, and event trainers caught around 16.7 million Pokémon during the event and unlocked global Bug Out bonuses! event coming to players later this week.

The event in Japan was the third in-person event this year for the game, with the first two taking place in Berlin and Seattle. Trainers roamed Nakajima Park and Sapporo City collecting Pokemon, battling other Trainers, trading Pokemon, and spinning PokéStops.

Participants were able to explore four real-world habitats that housed certain groups of Pokémon and headed to a Sky Forme Shaymin by completing special research tasks. Trainers were also able to capture Shiny versions of Pansage and Swirlix for the first time during the event. Ultra Beast Xurkitree also debuted during the event in Ultra Wormhole Raids.

Pikachu, Vulpix, and Alolan Vulpix wandered around Nakajima Park. Some trainers were able to take a photo with them as they paraded through the park. Pokémon walked around the park and allowed trainers to take pictures of them throughout the event.

Due to Trainers’ success in the event, global bonuses are unlocked for the Bug Out! event, including additional candies for nice, awesome, and excellent throws, Unown T and Pansage appearing in raids, and bug-like timed research. The event begins on August 10 at 10 a.m. local time and ends on August 16 at 8 p.m.

This event marks the last in-person event before the Pokemon Go Final event of Fest 2022 which takes place on August 27th. Anyone who has purchased a Go Fest ticket, whether an in-person ticket or World Go Fest Day, receives a final ticket at no additional cost. Those who missed the events can purchase a ticket to the final event for $10.99 when they become available later this month.
